T-3 Tooth Upgraded
The traditional T-3 tooth forging is being phased out and replaced with a fully manufactured factory tooth that incorporates a high grade tool steel in the threaded shank. The result is dramatically increased thread strength so that the tooth can be tightened to much higher torque levels without stretching the threads. Increased torque means more resistance to loosening from impact loads and vibration so the interval between maintenance checks can be extended. In addition, the increased thread integrity resists damage outside the machine, so the hardsurfacing can be rebuilt more times before the tooth reaches the end of its economic life. The upgrade applies to all styles and hardsurfacings, including standard cut, high rake and overlapping cut.
